How to Protect Your AC Unit
If ice or snow starts to build up around your AC unit, that is never a good thing. The best and easiest way to prevent damage from the winter weather is to simply keep the area around your AC unit clear from the snow and ice. If there’s a large snowstorm in Watertown, Belmont, Lexington, Newton, Natick, Stoneham, Concord, Weston & Wellesley, just make sure that you clear some space around your AC unit. Usually clearing an area of 12” to 18” is plenty. Remember, if you’re going to remove ice from your AC, never use a sharp object since that could damage the AC coils.
